THE HAUNTED DOLL’S HOUSE
At the moment, I am working on two projects. One is The Haunted Doll’s House, loosely based on a ghost story by M.R. James. This story is about a man who buys a doll’s house that appears to be haunted. The story thus centers around a scale model of a house in which scenes happen that might be miniature reenactments of the past. Or is the real world a full scale reenactment of the miniature world? Or are they parallel universes? The Haunted Doll’s House is going to be a video about a model inside a model, using the possibilities of video to question the relation between the two. Like in Thursday May 10th the architecture is the protagonist, both the concrete architecture of the dolls house and the spaces around it, and the architecture of thinking incorporated in the narrative. Is the architectural model of the doll’s house a visualization of a future to come or the reconstruction of an uncanny past? Is the model mimicking reality or reality following the model?
